Hello

My name is Daniel Sakson, and I craft one-of-a-kind Rundle stone tables. Each slab is carefully selected from local quarries and shaped to reveal the raw character of the Rockies — bringing a piece of the Rundle Mountain heart into your home.

My Story

Stone has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I grew up surrounded by it—my father owned a stone quarry—and from a young age I watched raw slabs pulled from the earth, each one completely unique. I didn’t realize it then, but that environment was shaping me. Stone felt natural, familiar, and deeply personal.

But life led me in a different direction. I stepped away from the craft and spent several years working in the IT field. It was a different world—fast-moving, digital, and far from the rugged honesty of natural materials. I learned a lot, but a part of me always felt disconnected. Something inside kept pulling me back to the craft I grew up with.

Eventually, passion won.

Returning to stone felt like falling in love all over again. I began by supplying stone to clients, then expanded into hardscaping and masonry. Each step brought me closer to what inspires me most today: creating live-edge stone furniture.

I choose each slab with intention. I study its natural edge, its grain, its colours, its personality. Every stone is one-of-a-kind—shaped by nature over thousands of years. Most of the pieces I work with come directly from local Alberta Rundle quarries, giving each creation a strong connection to our landscape and heritage.

When I begin a project, I’m not just building a table—
I’m revealing the character already hidden inside the slab.

Every piece I create is handcrafted, unique, and personal to me.
No templates. No duplicates.
Just nature and craftsmanship coming together to form something meaningful.

That personal journey grew into RundleArt—a brand built on heritage, skill, and deep respect for natural materials. What started in my childhood, paused during my IT years, and reignited through passion has now come full circle.

Today, I create custom stone dining tables, coffee tables, shelves, and architectural pieces for homes, chalets, galleries, and commercial spaces across Canmore, Banff, Calgary, and beyond. Each piece carries a bit of my past, a touch of craftsmanship, and a story only stone can tell.
